SUMMARY:Stacy Brooks Band
DESCRIPTION:Stacy was dubbed DC’s Queen of the Blues by her musical peers in Washington DC when she decided to dive deep into the Blues.  Stacy works very hard to keep that opinion alive & well. Washington DC is not known as a Blues Town but ask anyone in Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta and Europe when coming to DC, you must see Stacy Brooks. The Stacy Brooks Band won the DC Blues Battle of the Bands and competed in the 30th Annual International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tn January 2014.\n9 July 2011, The Stacy Brooks Band competed and won The Battle of The Bands at The Sedalia Blues Festival in Big Island Virginia. They competed in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge in January 2012.\nOctober 2014, Stacy Brooks landed in Colombo Sri Lanka for a 2 month residency at club Qbaa, owned by Cricket star Sanath Jayasuriya. She along with musicians from Chicago performed as Stacy Brooks & The 11th Hour Band. They are planning to return soon as they now have a new following in India and Sri Lanka.\nPortraying her idols Etta James & Koko Taylor from 2013-2016, in the touring hit Broadway Musical, “Ghost of The Blues” has been one of the highlights in Stacy’s career. The last date was at the Orpheum in Memphis, Tn. in 2016. Ghost of the Blues had a nice 3 year run.\nNow back to the beginning. Stacy started singing at the age of 5 in Zweibruken Germany at an Army show and after her first standing ovation there was no looking back. Fast forward to the present, with her diverse background she continues to give you toe tapping, head bobbing feel good music that crosses all barriers. In her short time on the blues circuit she has shared the stage with blues greats Kenny Neal, Grammy Award Winner Sugar Blue, Guitar Legend Bobby Parker (R.I.P), Larry Mud Morganfield (son of Muddy Waters), Lil Dave Thompson (R.I.P.) Ronnie Baker Brooks, Grammy Nominated Billy Branch, Eddie Shaw, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith (R.I.P.), and Biscuit Miller just to name a few. Her arrangements keep the integrity of traditional Chicago, Delta Blues while adding a spruce of rejuvenation.\nLove Peace and The Blues Cd was released in September 2011 to wonderful reviews and airplay. Grammy nominated Bluesmen Kenny Neal and Memphis Gold are co-producers of the Cd along with Stacy. The CD includes a duet with Kenny Neal and she wrote & arranged 12 of the 14 songs. The CD also includes German lyrics to pay tribute to her German background.\nHer highly anticipated sophmore studio CD is due to be released in 2020 titled, “German Chocolate” with full songs in German, yes Funky Hot German Blues as only Stacy Brooks can deliver….
